Estimator - Water/Wastewater

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment projects Review project documents, plans, specifications, and addenda completely and accurately Analyze and compile estimate data affecting labor, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals Develop and maintain business relationships with small businesses, subcontractors, and suppliers Provide input on value engineering Provide conceptual estimates from limited information with assumptions and clarifications Prepare contingency and risk analysis for estimates and pre-review Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings Ensure understanding of project scope and critical means and methods of construction Work on multiple projects simultaneously Requirements 2+ years of construction estimating experience Previous estimating experience, preferably in the water, wastewater, or industrial markets Proven experience estimating heavy civil earthwork, cast-in-place concrete structures, underground yard piping, and/or above-grade process piping systems Estimating experience with at-risk self-performing contracts preferred over construction manager at-risk delivery methods Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or equivalent work experience preferred but not required Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and understanding specifications Ability to review take-off quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates Ability to review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in collaborative environments Must pass background screening Must work in a drug-free workplace Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in construction estimating with a focus on water and wastewater treatment projects, including proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, and risk analysis.
