Electrical Engineer (Owner's Representative) - Semiconductor Facilities

The Electrical Engineer serves as the Owner’s Representative responsible for supporting small to mid-sized electrical infrastructure, facility improvement, and sustaining engineering projects within active semiconductor manufacturing environments. This role combines project engineering, electrical system ownership support, and facility engineering responsibilities, working closely with site electrical system owners, project managers, contractors, and operations teams to maintain reliable facility operations while delivering capital improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 3+ years of experience working in either design or construction of facilities. Labs, Semiconductor, and/or Critical Facility Construction is preferred.
• Professional Engineering License or Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred.
• EasyPower Electrical Software Experience
• Proficient use of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
• History of strong client relations and people management skills.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills are fundamental.
• Skills to identify issues and proactively respond to project issues.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to exchange information with senior management, service providers, workers, and contractors.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provide projects and sustaining facility electrical engineering support.
• Work with the System Owner of the site's electrical distribution system for small to mid-size projects.
• Sustaining engineering responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting electrical system problems ; coordinating shutdowns; conducting breaker coordination and arc flash studies
  • Systematic problem solving
  • statistical validation of system performance
  • providing electrical load and capacity data
  • dealing with utilities rates and system issues
  • Delivering operational efficiency, maintenance, testing and commissioning solutions; justifying capital budgets for system upgrades and energy conservation measures
  • providing technical leadership to IFM and contractors
  • responding to power outages/disturbances and leading in the recovery effort; participating on cross site teams (RDCOC, E-JET, site audit, etc.)
  • some occasional weekend engineering support will also be required.
• Projects engineering responsibilities:
  • Handling facilities work orders for power installations in test floors, labs and general office areas
  • effective collaboration with Project Managers, architects, engineers and contractors on new construction/renovation projects
  • reviewing electrical design specifications, submittals, studies and drawings
  • possessing thorough knowledge of facilities low & medium voltage electrical distribution systems including transformers, MCC's, generators, ATS', UPS', etc.
  • ability to review/provide cost estimates, budgets and ROI analysis
  • ability to work on multiple projects and issues concurrently
  • possess good knowledge of the latest NEC codes with ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
  • Leading and working in a project team environment is essential.
• Additional duties may include:
  • Help maintain the facilities document control system by ensuring electrical as-built drawings are incorporated into the master CAD drawings
  • ensure electrical system single line diagrams are up to date and all construction specifications, as-builts, O&M manuals and submittals are received after project close out
  • help maintain and organize the document control storage area for fast retrieval of information (drawings, specifications, manuals, etc.)
  • work closely with Project Managers, contractors and engineers on project design and close out documentation
  • coordinate and oversee work of external consultant's CAD support
  • provide design and industrial engineering support on projects
  • organize, set up and maintain a CAD/document control system.

Salary Range

$120,000—$180,000 USD
