About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience required License: Must have a valid nursing license prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience required - Charting system experience preferred Description: This is an 8-week assignment. The position requires a minimum of 1.5 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. The patient ratio on all shifts is 4 patients per nurse. Float requirements will include assignments to Med Surg, where nurses may take up to 6 patients. Daily census averages around 28 patients. The unit cares for adults and geriatric patients with various diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and gastrointestinal conditions. Special procedures performed include cardioversions and EKGs. Nurses will work with various drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin. Floating within the facility or to nearby affiliates is required. Travelers are expected to comply with all job requirements and qualifications provided in the job description.
