Account Manager

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Agency Director and Sales Team with marketing and maintaining client policies through carrier and client facing communications, and data processing.

Essential Functions:

• Assists the Agency Director and Sales Team with policy management including: New business, Marketing, renewals, endorsements, audits, reinstatements and cancellations.
• Communicates with carriers and clients on new business, marketing, renewals, endorsements, audits, reinstatements and cancellations.
• Provides clients support by responding to payment inquiries, addressing policy concerns and finalizing policy documents.
• Issue proofs of insurance including evidence of property, certificates of insurance and auto id cards via the agency management system.
• Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
• Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
• Utilizes good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to accomplish goals.
• Comply with departmental reporting requirements.
• All Essential functions are to be met to Agency Defined quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to communicate written and orally to others including, to explain insurance issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
• Knowledge of insurance products, markets, and underwriting procedures.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy, organization, and timely follow-through.
• Research skills, curiosity, and ability to self-start
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with Applied EPIC systems, preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Property & Casualty License preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year commercial account experience preferred.
• Transferrable skills will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment and may be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Regularly communicates orally and written, and must be able to clearly communicate, listen and observe.
• Constantly operates a computer with multiple screens, phones, and computer printer/copier, including repetitive hand and wrist movements. May occasionally lift up to 15 pounds and may be required to navigate stairs, ramps, and similar areas.

Salary Description:

$48,000-$58,000 with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $10,000 in base salary during the first year based on eligible new business commissions. After the first year or the maximum achievement of $10,000 is met, employee is eligible for ongoing commission on new business.
