Industrial Diesel Mechanic

Position Overview The Industrial Diesel Mechanic will diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul diesel/gasoline tractors/trucks, and other equipment such as front‑end loaders, excavators and other light‑ and heavy‑operating equipment in support of the Facility’s overall operations. Equipment manufacturers include Kenworth, Mack, John Deere, Caterpillar, etc. Key Responsibilities Repair and replace damaged or worn parts to braking system, engines, fuel system, power train, electrical system and hydraulic system. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications. Overhaul and test equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Prioritize and execute repair tasks and projects. Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies such as transmissions, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes. Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools (a plus). Qualifications GED/HS Diploma or 3 years’ experience. Current valid CDL Class A or B license is a plus but not required. Minimum two years of mechanical trade school training and two years’ experience as a vehicle and heavy equipment mechanic. Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as front‑end loader and tractor/trailer for diagnostic purposes. Physical Demands Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb; lift/carry 50lbs; work from heights and in confined spaces; qualify to wear a full‑face respirator; and work in various weather conditions. Shift Work Monday to Friday, 8‑hour days starting at 7:00am. Benefits Medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental plans; 401(k) plan; paid parental leave; paid time off; and paid holidays. Pay Transparency Pay range: $64,059.00 – $88,215.00 per year. Final salary offered will be based on experience, education, location, skills, and other factors.
