Biomedical Equipment Technician 2

GE HealthCare seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 to diagnose and repair complex medical equipment at hospital locations in the Wichita, Kansas area. The role involves planned maintenance, customer relations, and mentoring junior technicians with on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose complex biomedical equipment failures, implementing appropriate repairs onsite
• Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and maintain customer relations at assigned hospital locations
• Lead, instruct, and assist junior technicians on basic and complex equipment repairs
• Document all repair actions and submit reports according to schedule; manage spare parts inventory
• Establish proactive customer communications to ensure issue resolution and satisfaction

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering plus 2+ years medical equipment service experience
• OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years medical equipment servicing experience
• OR equivalent military education and 2+ years electrical or mechanical equipment service experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs unassisted; frequent bending, stooping, climbing, and extended standing
• Willingness to work rotating on-call schedule including weekends for critical issues
• Good hand dexterity and color, close, distance, and peripheral vision capabilities
