Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Level II or III NICU License: Valid State License required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE preferred Must-Have: Experience attending deliveries and neonatal resuscitation Experience in Mother/baby couplet care Description: Nursery RN needed. Looking for nurses with experience in a Level II or III NICU. Must have attended deliveries and neonatal resuscitation. Experience in Mother/baby couplet care is required. Shift hours are typically 7 AM to 7 PM with some 11 AM to 11 PM depending on unit needs. On-call duties may be required occasionally. Floating to Mother/Baby/Postpartum units is expected. Weekend coverage is every other weekend, totaling seven weekends in the contract duration. Patient care is based on the age-related needs of neonates. Nurses will provide care considering developmental, psychosocial, and environmental safety needs. Access only the minimum amount of information necessary to care for patients. Skills required include administration of blood products, newborn assessments, and managing neonatal conditions. Nurses should be familiar with feeding protocols for drug withdrawal and maintaining thermoregulation in infants. Special equipment knowledge such as CPAP and IV pumps is necessary, along with procedures for stabilizing and managing infants. The unit requires interdisciplinary support from various services to provide comprehensive care. Nurses should be prepared for challenges associated with hypoglycemia, premature birth, and respiratory distress. Preparation for higher levels of care including intubation and medication management for rare cases is also part of the role. Candidate must ensure compliance with all work history verification requirements. All applicants will go through a thorough compliance process before starting.
