Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. This role requires expertise in various surgical specialties to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.

Shift Details

Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 11 AM - 11 PM

Call Shifts: 5-6 per month, options for call include 11 PM - 7 AM (Monday to Thursday) or 7 PM - 7 AM (Sunday night).

Unit Information

Location: Plano, TX

Number of Beds: 23

Number of Staff: 85+

Staffing Structure

Day Shift: Charge nurses, coordinators, nurse managers, transport staff, RNs, Certified Surgical Technologists (CST), and Operating Room Assistants.

Night Shift: Charge nurse, 2 RNs, 2 CSTs, anesthesia tech, and Operating Room Assistants.

Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 1 patient.

Required Qualifications

Must Have:

• Experience in Orthopedics
• Neuro/Spine expertise
• Robotics skills
• Experience in Plastics
• Trauma experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience in related fields may be considered an asset.

Common Procedures

• Neuro/Spine surgeries
• Orthopedic procedures including trauma, total joint surgeries, and revisions
• Robotic surgeries (gynecological, colorectal, thoracic, urology)
• Plastic surgeries
• Trauma surgeries (Level 1)

Certifications

Required certifications must be current and relevant to the operating room nursing specialty.

Additional Information

This department operates 24/7, and on-call shifts are a requirement for this position. Staff members are expected to be flexible to meet the needs of the unit.
