About this position Trusts and Estates: Planning, Administration & Litigation Attorney Associate Attorney Job Description We are seeking a motivated litigation and estate planning associate (1–6 years of experience). This position offers the opportunity to actively prepare: create and administer trusts and estates, motions, meet and confer on discovery issues, prepare petitions, litigate cases, take depositions, argue motions, and prepare cases for trial. Compensation: $130,500 Responsibilities: What You’ll Do: You will manage a trust litigation, probate, estate planning, and trust administration caseload under the guidance of the firm's partners and will progressively assume more responsibility as you become accustomed to our team practice areas, goals, and strategies. Responsibilities include: Drafting and responding to written discovery Taking and defending depositions (parties, witnesses, experts) Drafting law and motion, including meet & confer letters and arguing motions in court Court appearances Preparing cases for mediation Direct client communication to provide updates Trial preparation and second-chair trial opportunities Supervise and direct paralegals and legal support staff Prepare estate plans and administer those for Trustees and Administrators Other litigation and other assignments as needed Track deadlines for timely preparation and filing Thinking, strategizing, and advocating for clients' positions professionally, with civility. Qualifications: Who We’re Looking For 1–6 years of litigation experience California Bar license, active and in good standing Experience drafting motions, meet & confer letters, and handling discovery Strong writing skills Organized and deadline-driven Coachable and receptive to feedback Ambitious and growth-oriented 2-8 years of litigation experience (trial experience highly desired but not required) Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to manage deadlines and work independently while being a collaborative team player Client-focused with high professional and ethical standards We value judgment, professionalism, and an ownership mentality About Company Our law firm was established over 30 years ago in Torrance, CA.
