Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is looking for an energetic, dependable, and people-focused Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join our leadership team!

As the Assistant Director of Housekeeping, you will work closely with our Director of Housekeeping to lead a large and essential department. You won't simply be managing a cleaning schedule-you'll be helping create the environment where our residents live, heal, recover, and make memories.

You'll be a visible leader throughout the building, working alongside our housekeeping and laundry teams while partnering with nursing, maintenance, dietary, and other departments to keep Bridgewater looking and feeling its best.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Director of Housekeeping with the day-to-day leadership and operations of a busy housekeeping and laundry department.
• Lead by example by spending time with your team, supporting staff, and helping ensure work gets done to the highest standard.
• Supervise, coach, motivate, and support housekeeping and laundry employees.
• Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, hallways, and public spaces.
• Help ensure Bridgewater consistently meets high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and infection prevention.
• Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to finding solutions.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor supplies, equipment, linen, and inventory to ensure the department has what it needs to succeed.
• Help develop creative ways to improve department efficiency, teamwork, and resident satisfaction.
• Work with the Director of Housekeeping to monitor staffing, productivity, and labor costs.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, sanitation, and OSHA standards.
• Step into a leadership role and keep the department moving forward when the Director of Housekeeping is away.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of housekeeping/environmental services experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping best practices, sanitation, infection prevention, and OSHA standards.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays.
