Position Overview

Join a dynamic mental health care team dedicated to providing exceptional support in a variety of units, catering to diverse patient demographics including adolescents and adults. We are seeking qualified professionals who possess the skills and compassion to impact patients' lives positively.

Unit Specifics

• Adult Units: Serenity (24 beds), ITU (32 beds), SRAD (16 beds), VINE (9 beds)
• Adolescent Unit: ADOL (18 beds, ages 12-18)
• Patient Ratios: Nurses 8:1, Mental Health Technicians 12:1

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' mental health status and identify signs of psychiatric disorders and behavioral issues through thorough histories and observations.
• Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues, including setting goals and evaluating outcomes.
• Medication Management: Administer and monitor psychiatric medications, observing for side effects or adverse reactions.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support to patients in crisis, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate medications.
• Therapeutic Communication: Foster trust and rapport with patients through effective communication, active listening, and empathy.
• Monitoring: Regularly assess patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and medication effects.

Qualifications

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required.
• Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medications.
• Proven ability in crisis intervention and therapeutic communication.

Unit Environment

The hospital operates multiple units tailored to specific patient needs, including high-acuity adult units and lower-acuity adult and adolescent units. All staff members are committed to upholding values of integrity, compassion, and respect while providing care.

Additional Information

• Uniform Dress Code: Nurses are required to wear blue, while Mental Health Technicians should wear green or black.
• Scheduling: Candidates should be open to providing coverage for three 12-hour shifts daily, including weekends.
