Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice

Registered Nurse – Hospice

Schedule: Dayshift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg
• Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients, focusing on comfort and symptom management.
• Administer medications and interventions according to physician orders.
• Provide guidance and oversight to certified nursing assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality personal care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds to contribute to care planning and symptom management strategies.
• Offer emotional support and education to families and caregivers regarding end-of-life care.
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and communications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Compliance / Notes:

• Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
