Data Engineer

Position Overview We’re building a world of health around every individual. Join CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company, as a Data Engineer in Richardson, TX, to develop, build, and manage large-scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient ETL workflows that support business applications and data-driven insights. Responsibilities Develop large‑scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data, generating insights and addressing reporting needs. Write ETL processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing to improve existing systems and expand capabilities. Collaborate with Data Science teams to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Test and maintain systems and troubleshoot malfunctions. Leverage Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and query optimization to build data pipelines. Use Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from a variety of sources while ensuring data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to complex business problems. Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions aligned with model/use‑case requirements. Design, develop, and implement scalable data‑engineering pipelines leveraging Generative AI frameworks to enable deterministic, auditable, and reproducible transformations. Design full‑stack development initiatives using React, TypeScript, and Python microservices to deliver high‑performance web applications and backend services. Integrate machine‑learning capabilities into data platforms for predictive analytics. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field. Five (5) years of experience in the role or a related occupation. Five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Java, Python, PythonFlask, PythonDjango or Node.js Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles Cloud technologies: Azure, AmazonWeb Services (AWS), or GoogleCloudPlatform (GCP) Teradata, SQL, MySQL or NoSQL Docker or Kubernetes GCP VertexAI, GCP AgentEngine, GoogleAgentDevelopmentKit Software development lifecycle (SDLC) Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting Domain support for healthcare or retail organization Writing application code and deploying to production Developing backend services, code reviews, and collaboration with peers on software solutions Data engineering pipeline using Apache Airflow, Pub/Sub streaming, and security architecture Pay Range $157,414.00 per year (base salary).
