Warehouse Supervisor The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a high-volume warehousing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate handling of inbound, outbound, and claims processing activities. This role works closely with site leadership to manage staffing, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong relationships with union-represented teams while meeting operational, quality, and safety objectives. Responsibilities include supervising all warehouse operations, managing day-to-day PRC operations, leading an hourly team in daily operations, covering crews in the absence of other supervisors, attending and facilitating crew meetings, preparing and maintaining work-related records, scheduling the workforce, championing continuous improvement initiatives, developing and implementing projects aimed at reducing budget expenses, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with UAW counterparts, implementing and promoting a continuous improvement culture, developing and leading safety initiatives, actively participating in building and maintaining a safety culture, maintaining and developing strong quality procedures, driving process adherence and process improvement, ensuring accurate application of national and local union contracts, providing direct supervision and training for GSR 6 supervisors, maintaining overall building organization and cleanliness, supporting grievance resolution processes, monitoring and influencing key performance indicators, holding employees accountable for performance, safety, and adherence to established processes, demonstrating flexibility by working rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs require, supporting and participating in initiatives related to smart redesign and organizational changes. Essential skills include minimum of 1+ years of previous supervision experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational environment, high school diploma or equivalent education, proven leadership capability, experience supervising or leading hourly teams, strong knowledge of or ability to learn warehouse management systems and enterprise systems, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interpret data, goal-oriented mindset, continuous improvement mindset, strong organizational skills, ability to demand and maintain accountability from employees, proven dependability, willingness and ability to work outside traditional hours, shift flexibility, commitment to safety. Additional skills and qualifications include previous supervisory experience in a UAW or high-volume center environment, experience building positive relationships with union-represented teams and UAW counterparts, familiarity with ISO and environmental responsibilities, experience managing key operational metrics, experience in warehouse management, extensive in safety leadership, experience with grievance resolution and accurate application of national and local union contracts, experience supervising and mentoring other supervisors, demonstrated ability to maintain building organization and cleanliness, interest in and willingness to work their way up within a company, comfort working in a facility that includes sheet metal operations, standard warehousing, and dock operations, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment undergoing smart redesign and rapid growth. Work environment is based in a warehousing facility that manages aftermarket parts, which are received, stored, and shipped to dealerships across the country. The operation includes a sheet metal area, a standard warehousing operation, and a dock operation that interfaces with all parts of the facility for inbound and outbound shipments. The facility runs two shifts, with current operational hours from 6:00 AM until 1:30 AM, and requires shift flexibility, including the possibility of rotating shifts, weekend work, and overtime as business needs dictate. Safety is the top priority in this environment; safety vests and safety glasses must be worn at all times while on the warehouse floor, and employees are expected to actively support and follow all safety guidelines. The role involves working closely with both salaried and hourly teams in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment that relies on systems such as SAP and EWM, and emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to established processes. Job type and location is a contract position based out of Romulus, MI. Pay and benefits range from $29.38 - $32.44/hr.
