Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Valencia, California.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/27/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 27, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.Details\n \n General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations\n Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified\n Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00\n Every other weekend required, with additional weekends possible depending on unit needs\n Floating may be required based on facility needs\n Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required\n Requirements\n \n Active CA RN license required\n Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required\n Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, MAB (or CPI), NIHSS, and PALS\n TNCC certification preferred\n Level II Trauma Center experience preferred\n AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted\n Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias\n Experienced in 12-lead EKG acquisition and multisystem organ dysfunction management\n Proficient in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts\n Experience with continuous IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors, and emergency medications\n Skilled in procedural sedation administration and monitoring\n Neuro-trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care\n Experienced in chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, and ventilator management\n Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE\n Experience managing gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations\n Ability to manage psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies, including psychiatric holds and suicidal patients\n Experience with pediatric emergency conditions such as asthma, seizures, and respiratory infections\n Skilled in ortho-trauma care including splint application\n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies\n Work within a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center environment\n RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to assignment start\n Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler\n Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-762823.
