Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Sacramento, CA, equipped with modern rehabilitation equipment and a supportive team atmosphere that fosters collaboration and continuous learning. Your workweek will generally be Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate the varying needs of our patients and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the development and execution of individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and functional capacity.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, ensuring they receive the support needed to promote their physical well-being and manage pain effectively.
• Educate patients and their families on best practices for body mechanics and home exercises, empowering them to contribute actively to their recovery journey.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, while adhering strictly to protocols and the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress by tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional status, thereby supporting clinical decision-making.
• Ensure treatment areas are prepared and organized, with all necessary equipment and supplies readily available for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational and Speech-Language Therapists, to ensure cohesion in patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Foster a positive and motivating environment for patients, providing emotional support throughout their rehabilitation process.
• Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality while respecting the rights and privacy of all individuals receiving care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work with a diverse range of patients, including individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic pain conditions, and patients requiring rehabilitation following injuries or medical procedures. The complexity of patient needs requires you to tailor your approach to align with each patient's unique situation, ensuring effective care that is both respectful and comprehensive.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A current and valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of therapeutic interventions specific to physical therapy.
• Hands-on experience in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities, demonstrating expertise in delivering patient-centered care.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
