For more information on the Department of Justice and the United States Attorney's Offices, visit The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida (MDFL), is seeking to hire an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) to serve in the Civil Division. The selected applicant will represent the U.S. Government in a wide range of unique and complex cases. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress. MDFL is headquartered in Tampa and has branch offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Ocala. This position will be filled in Tampa, Florida. As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree (or equivalent) and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) by their entry on duty date. Law school graduates and current law students taking a July 2026 bar examination may be considered, subject to the governing requirements. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Applicants should have excellent academic credentials and some litigation experience, preferably at least three years. They should be computer literate, possess superior oral and written communication skills, have strong character and excellent interpersonal skills, have the capacity to function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment, and have a strong commitment to public service.
