NCDOT - Databricks Data Specialist

Job Summary (List Format):
- Serve as a Data Analyst supporting the creation of data aggregations, dashboards, and reports for NCDIT-T Web Systems.
- Utilize Azure Databricks (including PySpark) and visualization tools such as Power BI and Databricks native tools.
- Perform comprehensive data analysis, data mapping, and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Write efficient and complex Spark SQL queries to analyze large datasets within Databricks.
- Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality, analysis-ready data products.
- Develop business requirements and support change management documentation.
- Design and build dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Participate in design discussions and planning with the technical lead and development team.
- Create documentation for data pipelines, models, mappings, and dashboard functionality.
- Perform statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to uncover patterns and generate actionable insights.
- Develop and implement predictive models and advanced analytical tools to address business needs.
- May require up to 3 days per week on-site at a Triangle-area office; all candidates must be local to the Triangle region of North Carolina.
- Preferred: Databricks Data Analyst Associate Certification.
- Required Skills:
- 3+ years' experience with Azure Databricks architecture, SQL, Python, data science concepts, and data modeling techniques.
- 5+ years' experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
