Maintenance Specialist Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  
• Previous industrial, manufacturing, or facilities-maintenance experience preferred
  
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building repairs
  
• Experience with preventive maintenance procedures and documentation
  
• Ability to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  
• Experience with welding, drilling, tapping, and conduit bending preferred
  
• Knowledge of workplace safety, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout procedures
  
• Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, and manufacturer recommendations
  
• Basic computer and recordkeeping skills
  
• Ability to maintain parts inventory and preventive maintenance records
  
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
  
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production employees, equipment suppliers, and management
  
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
  
• Commitment to 5S, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement
  

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and replace production and facility equipment as needed.
  
• Perform basic plumbing repairs.
  
• Complete mechanical and electrical repair work.
  
• Perform general building and facility repairs.
  
• Troubleshoot abnormal equipment conditions and failures.
  
• Conduct root-cause analyses to determine the source of recurring problems.
  
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce future equipment failures.
  
• Coordinate with production employees to resolve breakdowns and operational concerns.
  
• Communicate with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  
• Order required parts, tools, and equipment according to company procedures.
  
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of critical spare parts.
  
• Keep parts inventory records accurate and current.
  
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  
• Follow manufacturer recommendations and accepted industry practices.
  
• Complete preventive maintenance binders weekly or biweekly based on equipment needs.
  
• Perform welding, drilling, tapping, conduit bending, and related maintenance tasks.
  
• Complete assigned safety proposals within 30 days.
  
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas according to 5S standards.
  
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by management.
