Traveling Optometrist - Texas

ExcelHealth Group is seeking a Texas-licensed Therapeutic Optometrist with Optometric Glaucoma Specialist (OGS) certification to provide comprehensive eye care to nursing home residents throughout Texas. This opportunity is ideal for providers who enjoy travel, autonomy, and meaningful patient care while working outside of a traditional brick-and-mortar practice. You focus on patient care—we handle the operations. About the Role As a Traveling Optometrist, you will provide routine and medical eye care in long-term care facilities across the state, including: Comprehensive eye exams (room or bedside) Annual exams and follow-up care Glaucoma diagnosis and management Ordering spectacles and treating eye disorders Clinical documentation and collaboration with facility staff Why ExcelHealth Group? Qualifications Texas Therapeutic Optometrist license required OGS certification required DEA preferred, not required Medicaid provider number or willingness to obtain one Compensation & Benefits Travel expenses covered with company-issued credit card Fuel coverage in lieu of mileage PTO and paid holidays Health insurance reimbursement Continuing education support Basic vehicle maintenance assistance Schedule Full-time | 5 days per week Travel throughout Texas with schedules provided 30–45 days in advance.
