Maintenance Technician Craft Wilmington, DE, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 2258 Salary Range: $24.00 To $24.00 Hourly Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Reports To: General Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance of the property and provide after-hour support as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Service Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs Committed to making every guest is satisfied Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service Maintenance Duties Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioning Ensure that the rooms and property are maintained in the best possible condition, with the least inconvenience to guests. Clean maintain swimming pool in a safe and sanitary manner Check and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, chlorinators, and filters for swimming pool Provide on‑call support for urgent requests after hours, on weekends, holidays, etc. Perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory Report emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets Report any hazardous situations, malfunctioning to external signs or unlit areas Install, adjust, modify and repair building systems and assess the conditions of all effective operations Test safety systems, e.g. emergency lighting and record keeping and assist with periodic inspection of all safety systems Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and repair projects Assist the engineering staff in adhering to Loss Prevention guidelines Perform inspections on a regular basis of working orders and checks adjusts repairs and monitor the building system Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working Other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Must have good communication and customer service skills. LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to read and speak English/Spanish and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property REASONING ABILITY Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues. Must have a valid driver’s license.
