Job Title Registered Nurse II Job Description Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Entity/Organization Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Regular Pay Grade Health-28 Scheduled Weekly Hours 36 Scheduled Work Hours/Shift 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week Job Summary / Purpose Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Minimum Training and Education Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. Either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, from kneeling positions, bending and twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, gross motor activities with fingers and hands, fine manipulation, reaching overhead, repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, using both legs and lower extremities for balance. Lifting and carrying 50 lbs, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs from/to floor up to 36 inches, lifting 36" to overhead 25 lbs, exerting up to 50 lbs of force. Vision: 20/40 corrected in one eye or both; ability to match colors, determine distance, depth perception, peripheral vision. Hearing: maintain hearing acuity with correction; tactile, olfactory and respirator use for selected positions. Stress handling, rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment.
