Threading Supervisor

Threading Supervisor is a 2nd Shift position from 2:45PM–11:45PM. Responsibilities Oversee daily activities of Threading Department team members, conduct training, and address performance issues. Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members. Verify conformance of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications. Schedule and coordinate shift schedules, rotations, and breaks. Use precision measuring tools (thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, pitch gauges, tape measure) to check thread quality. Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines (lubrication, cleaning, changing worn tools). Assist in training employees on proper machine operation, safety, and quality protocols. Use technical drawings and work orders to determine thread type, pitch, size, and material requirements. Follow threading standards such as UNC, UNF, or custom specifications. Ensure threads are free of burrs, defects, or dimensional inaccuracies. Install and adjust tools and dies for threading operations. Troubleshoot minor issues like poor thread finish, machine vibration, or tool wear. Load raw materials (nuts, rods, bolts) into machines and unload finished parts. Label, bundle, or sort threaded parts for the next stage or shipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance. Enforce PPE compliance. Report injuries, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor or manager immediately. Other duties as assigned. Experience Minimum 3–5 years of machining-related experience preferred. Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills. Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities. Strong math and mechanical aptitude. Attention to detail and high accuracy in precision work. Strong customer focus. Ability to read, understand, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications. Ability to adapt to changes without compromising quality or performance. Strong communication skills to liaise cooperatively with other departments. Must be able to work a shift schedule and mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays. Open to coaching/feedback, learning, training, and development. Flexible approach to work, able to multitask. Physical Demands Stand for the duration of the scheduled shift. Work in a manufacturing setting exposed to temperature variations, dust, noise, and sharp metal threads, chips, oils, and coolants. Moderate physical effort handling parts; equivalent to frequently exerting average effort. Lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with multi‑step process production runs on different machines.
