Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide 24-hour call coverage in Lincoln, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiothoracic surgery experience, including first assisting in the operating room and endoscopic or open vein harvesting.

Assignment Details

Practice Setting: Hospital

Coverage: 24-Hour On-Call

EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

First assist in a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures.

Perform endoscopic and/or open vein harvesting.

Provide perioperative management of cardiothoracic surgery patients.

Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including overnight phone consultations and emergent operative cases.

Evaluate patients, assist with preoperative and postoperative care, and collaborate closely with the cardiothoracic surgery team.

Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic.

Qualifications

Board-Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

Active Nebraska PA or NP license.

Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.

Extensive cardiothoracic surgery experience required.

Demonstrated proficiency as a first assist in cardiothoracic procedures.

Experience performing vein harvesting is required.
