Export Coordinator

A producer-owned pork processor, comprised of 200 dedicated Midwest family farms, focused on providing customers with quality pork products they can trust, in a culture that fosters innovation and opportunity.

The Export Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the efficient movement of goods from our facility to international markets. This position will involve managing the documentation, logistics, and internal communication associated with exporting products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining effective coordination between various departments and external partners.

Training will be scheduled from 6:00 to 14:30; after that, it is expected to overlap with other Export Coordinators.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• 1+ year experience in shipping and/or logistics preferred
• Export experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Please note: This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. 1. Prepare and manage all required export documentation, including government documents, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping instructions, and bills of lading.
2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to comply with international regulations and customs requirements.
3. Collaborate with government office and QC to ensure adherence to export controls, trade compliance, and licensing regulations.
4. Coordinate with shipping and logistics partners to ensure the transportation of goods to their final destinations.
5. Communicate with sales and transportation to ensure smooth export processes.
6. Track and monitor load status and communicate any issues that arise.
7. Stay updated on international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures to ensure adherence during the export process.
8. Complete and submit customs declarations and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
9. Act as a point of contact between various internal departments (production, sales, finance) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customs authorities, shipping agents).
10. Communicate shipment details, delivery schedules, and any potential disruptions to relevant parties.
11. Maintain organized records of export documentation, shipping details, and compliance records for auditing and reference purposes.
12. Generate reports on export activities, shipping costs, and timelines as required by management.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish language in order to communicate effectively and able to hear enough to understand those individuals as well. Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as graphs/flow sheets, financials, general professional articles and publications, governmental regulations, safety rules, assignment sheets, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures, and other administrative forms as outlined above.

Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings. Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups including residents, employees, managers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

In order to perform duties, one must be able to:

1. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and fractions.
2. Compute rate, discounts, ratios, and percent, and
3. Make, read, and interpret financials, graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and judgment in solving problems and interpreting and understanding instructions furnished in written or oral form. Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action yet reason when to involve supervisor.

Computer Skills

Basic computer knowledge with the ability to learn software.
