Buyer/Planner

A growing mid-sized manufacturing company is seeking a Buyer/Planner to support purchasing, production planning, inventory control, and supplier management. This role helps ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and customer commitments. The ideal candidate will bring manufacturing experience, strong ERP/MRP knowledge, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase raw materials, components, electrical parts, hardware, machined parts, and outside services.
• Create and manage purchase orders, confirm pricing and delivery dates, and expedite materials as needed.
• Review MRP outputs and release purchase orders/work orders to support production schedules.
• Manage inventory levels, lead times, safety stock, and reorder points within the ERP/MRP system.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Project Management to resolve material, supplier, and documentation issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of purchasing, production planning, inventory control, or Buyer/Planner experience.
• Manufacturing experience required; make-to-order, engineer-to-order, or job shop experience a plus.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience required
• Strong supplier negotiation, vendor management, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
