About the Position

• Perform initial, ongoing, and discharge nursing assessments for patients of all age groups.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Provide safe, evidence-based patient care within the scope of the Maine Nursing Practice Act.
• Administer medications using the  Five Rights and evaluate patient responses.
• Communicate patient status, care activities, and changes to the healthcare team.
• Participate in bedside rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and care coordination.
• Provide patient/family education and ensure understanding of discharge plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to hospital policies.
• Promote patient and staff safety and ensure equipment and supplies are available and functional.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency/disaster preparedness activities

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or Compact RN license
• Current, unexpired certifications
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Must meet required immunization/health screening requirements:
  • Varicella: 2 doses or titer
  • Hep B: 3 doses, titer, or declination
  • MMR: 2 doses or titer
  • Tdap
  • PPD 2-step or titer within the past 12 months
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season
