Substance Abuse Counselor

Position Summary Reporting to the Innovation Sr. Director, Private Label Spices and Sauces, the Senior Food Technologist will manage innovation development projects and initiatives for Olam Food Ingredients (ofi). This position will work closely with innovation leadership to drive the global strategy and deliver value‑generating innovation solutions. They will interact with manufacturing plants of assigned product categories to provide technical expertise, leadership, and problem‑solving capabilities. The position will work with customers to provide solutions to meet both internal and external customer needs. The Sr. Food Technologist will lead and perform required analysis of food, ingredients, raw and finished goods, analyze data, interpret results, write reports, and communicate the challenges and opportunities for their specific categories to innovation leadership, key stakeholders and senior management on a regular basis. Position Responsibilities Manage innovation projects and coordinate with internal stakeholders and customers. Maintain a thorough understanding of current food and ingredient trends across all channels, specifically for private label, sauces, and spice blends. Provide information to internal stakeholders to drive business strategy and deliver value‑generating innovative solutions. Prepare responses to customer inquiries with adequate scientific and technical evidence and provide solutions. Verify implementation of standard operating procedures for laboratory or kitchen facilities. Provide expertise in developing new innovative products and solutions within focused categories for internal and external customers. Lead product development from bench through commercialization. Visit customers (as required) to resolve technical challenges involving ofi ingredients. Maintain accurate records of formulations, procedures, and processes in appropriate software systems and platforms. Support Operations, Quality, and Procurement in processing and commercialization of new innovations. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, or related field (Master’s preferred). Eight (8) years of relevant work experience in product development and food analysis related to sauces and consumer products. Understanding of basic food processing and analytical techniques in chemical and microbiological analysis. Experience leading/managing teams (preferred). Expertise in sauces, condiments, seasoning, and thermally processed products; tomato sauce development experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and geographies, and with internal and external customers. Experience with SAP platform (preferred). Desire and ability to travel up to 20% of the time across North America. Benefits New Hire Base Salary Range in Chicago, IL: $101‑135k.
