Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required. License: Current RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred. Must-Have: General Emergency Department skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, and TNK/TPA administration. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The facility features 337 licensed beds with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospital. It is designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The Emergency Department has 43 beds and 8 clinical decision beds. We see an average census of 145 patients daily. The patient population includes pediatric to geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Common cases include respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health issues, acute myocardial infarction, and minor trauma. Admission rates are around 25-30%. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 based on acuity, with support from a CNA who serves as Unit Coordinator. Support staff include a charge nurse, paramedic, and dedicated pharmacists. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system with various medical devices and communication tools. Floating to other facilities within the region may be required based on operational needs. The culture is described as welcoming, helpful, and busy.
