Product Manager, Planter Platform

Role Overview The Planter Platform Product Manager is responsible for the roadmap and lifecycle of the platform, ensuring that critical platforms align with the company’s product platforms, brand differentiation strategies, and future technology integrations, while balancing cost, performance, and manufacturability. The role works closely with the Crop Care & Agronomy PM teams to integrate customer needs, brand specific requirements and product strategy into the platforms. The role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, agronomics, technology integration, brand differentiation and customer insights, and strong cross‑functional leadership to align product, engineering, and commercial strategies. Work is on‑site at our Beloit KS, Hesston KS or Jackson MN facility. Your Impact Roadmap and lifecycle Own the product lifecycle (NPI & CPM) for specific planters, aligning with brand strategies. Manage platform roadmaps, balancing modularity, scalability, cost‑efficiency while meeting brand & product requirements. Ensure alignment with solution systems, coordinating with Solution Systems PMs. Collaborate with Crop Care & Agronomy Product PMs to deliver brand‑specific products. Monitor platform health, quality, financial performance and market share. Collaborate with engineering and supply chain to deliver sustainable designs. Voice of Customer (VOC) Lead VOC initiatives focused on the platform to capture emerging needs, pain points and opportunities. Conduct structured customer interviews, farm visits and dealer discussions. Translate insights into feature prioritization, investment roadmap and platform requirements. Collaborate with customer support, CX PM, Agronomy and other teams to define smart features. Participate in innovation teams. Brand‑Specific Requirements & Differentiation Collaborate with PMs, agronomists, PTX and tech module PMs to define future products. Balance standardization and brand‑specific customization. Support price‑by‑feature studies with Brand PMs and Market Intelligence. Competitive Benchmarking & Market Insights Track competitor innovations and future technology roadmaps. Seek regional differentiation insights through Global Brand Marketing. Leverage field test data, warranty reports and feedback to refine roadmaps. Cost, Supply Chain & Manufacturing Feasibility Partner with Procurement & Supplier Teams to evaluate sourcing strategies. Work with Manufacturing & Industrialization for design optimization. Drive cost‑reduction while maintaining quality and performance. Product Integration & Cross‑Functional Alignment Ensure seamless planner integration into Crop Care platforms. Collaborate with Aftermarket & Service Teams for serviceability. Performance Measurement & Continuous Refinement Define and track KPIs for platform performance. Conduct quarterly reviews integrating field data and competitive insights. Finance & Pricing Collaboration Work with Finance & Pricing Teams to align cost structures and profitability.
