Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Neurology (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week; two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform and maintain IV starts, basic wound care, surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
• Float to other units as directed per contract labor floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with IV insertion and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Neurology or Neuro Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records documentation
• Experience working in a Comprehensive Stroke or Trauma Center environment
