Multimedia Journalist

Position Overview TelevisaUnivision LA is seeking a dynamic Multimedia Journalist to create compelling news content across on‑air, digital, and streaming platforms. The role involves both field and studio reporting, including writing, filming, editing, and voice‑over work in Spanish. Key Responsibilities Pitch, research, and develop enterprise and breaking news stories. Cover live breaking news on the field and in studio with clarity, accuracy, and confidence. Film and edit stories using camera and phone equipment and Adobe Premiere Pro. Write and voice news scripts in Spanish under tight deadlines. Produce content for digital and social media platforms with a mobile‑first, social‑native storytelling approach. Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, local officials, and other news sources. Collaborate closely with producers, assignment editors, and news managers. Represent Univision in the community and at station events as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 2–5 years of experience as a television journalist, preferably in a Spanish‑language newsroom. Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken and written). Proven experience reporting, shooting, and editing news stories independently. Proficiency with camera equipment, iPhone, and Adobe Premiere Pro; newsroom system experience (iNews). Strong storytelling, writing, and live reporting skills with vertical video instincts. Functional knowledge of social media platforms and digital publishing. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must become a member of SAG‑AFTRA and NABET. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to eight (8) hours, and ability to carry and operate field camera equipment. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000. Compensation is subject to the applicable union collective bargaining agreement.
