RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Job Details:

• Work every other weekend schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• 16-hour net billable obligation (NBO)
• Required to float across multiple units including Med Surg, Behavioral Health, ED, ICU, and post-procedural areas based on staffing needs
• Primary assignment will be Med Surg with floating to units where assistance is most needed
• Patient ratios of 1:6
• Must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Required to manage drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
• Must be comfortable and proficient with telemetry monitoring and EKG/ECG interpretation
• Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with passing score of 80% during onboarding
• EPIC EMR system experience required
• 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med Surg/Telemetry required
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred, MOAB preferred
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• De-escalation certificate preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
