Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and NC RN licensure in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.

Details

• 20-bed Pediatric ICU that is part of a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, surgery, oncology, solid organ transplant, burn, and various medical specialties
• Eight beds are designated for specialized pediatric cardiac care
• Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
• Shared staffing model between the Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) and Pediatric ICU (PICU) located adjacent to one another
• Flexibility to float between the PCICU and PICU units is required
• Variable rotating shift schedule
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Provide care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Contribute to unit performance improvement activities and goals
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
