Job Description

This role focuses on safely handling and moving heavy industrial materials within a manufacturing environment. You will use overhead cranes and manual methods to load, unload, measure, and prepare materials for production while following clear work orders or verbal instructions. The position offers flexibility in daily tasks and the opportunity to grow into equipment operator and leadership roles over time.

Responsibilities

• Follow work orders or oral instructions to determine which materials or containers need to be moved or delivered.
• Drill materials and clean poles as needed, adapting to a variety of manual tasks in a flexible role.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Use a tape measure to accurately measure materials for the burn table, with precision down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Move product and materials to chip bins and trash containers as required to support production and housekeeping needs.
• Primarily operate overhead cranes to move large industrial materials safely and efficiently.
• Perform general labor and production support tasks as assigned, including manual handling and unloading.
• Apply basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to measure, calculate, and verify material dimensions and quantities.
• Follow all safety guidelines and rules, consistently employing safe working habits when handling materials and operating equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth material flow and meet production schedules.

Essential Skills

• Proven overhead crane experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong heavy industrial material handling experience, including moving large and bulky items safely.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, including measurements down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Experience performing manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and general production support.
• Ability to follow detailed work orders and verbal instructions reliably.
• Commitment to following safety guidelines and maintaining safe working habits.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Machine operation experience preferred, with the potential to operate equipment after being hired on directly.
• Experience in general labor and production environments.
• Familiarity with unloading materials and organizing them on pallets, racks, and shelves.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting.
• Flexibility with job duties and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility where you will primarily use overhead cranes and manual methods for material handling. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with work on Saturdays as needed. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, requiring comfort with heavy materials, manual labor, and adherence to safety procedures at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tulsa,OK.
