Girls Volleyball: Head Varsity Coach Starting Date: Immediately Mission Statement Everett Athletics strives to educate and inspire student athletes to be the BEST version of themselves! Responsibilities Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in volleyball. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores, statistics, incident reports, and physical examinations. Provide guidance and counseling to team members throughout the school year on scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship. Recommend purchases of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate. Determine athlete’s academic eligibility. Ensure knowledge and compliance with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the EHS Student Handbook. Oversee safety conditions of the facility during practices, competitions, and bus trips. Be present at each practice and all contests, supervising weight room, locker room, and shower areas. Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship; uphold standards set by the Principal and Athletic Department. Attend all Athletic Department and EHS meetings related to the sport, including MIAA, GBL, Coaches Associations, and Athletic Awards meetings; stay informed of rule changes. Develop a written practice plan with adequate warm‑up and cool‑down procedures daily. Provide personal support to the entire EHS staff, including principal and teachers. Establish communication with other adults to identify resources for enhancing EHS athletics. Collaborate with community youth sports members to encourage ongoing participation at the high school level. Organize and instruct clinics for youth programs and coaches; supervise squad members at home and away contests. Assist in distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment; ensure equipment is returned on time. Organize and post a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches. Perform any additional duties as required by the principal or athletic director that are in the best interest of the sport, pupils, and school. Qualifications Previous volleyball coaching experience desirable. Experience in high school, college, or both desirable. Knowledge of volleyball rules and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. Demonstrated ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred. CPR certification. Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and/or other MIAA requirements preferred. Stipend position – salary based on contract (FY27).
