Job Description Summary Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs). Provides triage care when necessary and communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Key Performance Areas Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents per provider orders. Use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Responsible for new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support. Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Provide proper patient identification per JBI for all encounters. Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course. Telephone triage: Prioritize incoming calls and messages and respond in an appropriate timeframe. Assist with inventory and re‑stocking medical supplies. Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information. Assist in training new employees related to job duties per JBIs. Work at any Company location as needed, within reasonable expectations, including overtime with sufficient notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adhere to Company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and Disaster Plan. Education and Job Qualifications Nursing Degree. Certifications and Licenses Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi‑state license. Current CPR and BLS certifications. Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed. Previous Experience Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
