Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with pediatric critical care experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a children's hospital Level II trauma center.

Details

• Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Level II trauma center with a Level IV NICU and 153 total beds
• Patient population includes pediatric patients ages 1 week to 18 years, including a moderate-sized Cystic Fibrosis population, chronic trach/vent patients, and cardiac surgery patients
• Cardiac program serves patients who have undergone open-heart procedures ranging from PDA repair to TOF repair
• Active ECMO program with use of specialized gases including Nitric Oxide and Heliox
• Procedures include critical care ventilator management, NIV (CPAP/BiPAP/HHFNC), ABG via GEM analyzer, and delivery of respiratory medications and therapeutic interventions
• EMR: Epic (required)
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating to ER, MedSurg, Oncology, and PICU
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, and RRT
• WA state Respiratory Therapist license required (must be in hand or have proof of application submitted 6+ weeks prior)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience within the last 5 years
• Experience with respiratory disease management in the pediatric population
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Two supervisor-level references required (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above); one reference may be submitted initially with a second required prior to start

Additional Information

• Preference given to candidates with 1+ year of experience in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; maroon and spice/burnt orange tones are not permitted
