If so, Tigg's Canteen Services may have the opportunity for you!We are looking for a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Berrien County Jail in St. Joseph, Michigan.What We OfferAnnual salary: $39,000-$42,000Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k)Paid Time OffAnd much more!About the PositionThe Lead Cook plays an important role in keeping daily kitchen operations running smoothly. You will help lead the kitchen team while assisting with the preparation and service of meals. This position requires someone who can follow instructions, work well with others, and take pride in maintaining high standards of food preparation and cleanliness.Responsibilities IncludeLead, train, and assist kitchen staff with daily tasksPrepare, bake, and cook meals according to company recipesAssist with meal planning and preparationFollow all company policies, procedures, and food safety standardsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchenAssist with kitchen clean-up and other daily dutiesWork effectively within a structured correctional facilityQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious kitchen or food service experience is preferred, but not requiredStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to read and follow recipes and written instructionsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsDependable and able to work well as part of a teamFlexibility to work rotating weekends and holidaysFlexibility to work varying shifts between 8:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.Must be able to obtain clearance approval to enter the facilityDon't have previous correctional food service experience? That's okay!
