The Role As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be at the center of the patient experience, serving as a trusted resource for registration, insurance verification, and patient access services across several outpatient areas. This is a fast-paced, patient-facing role that requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and a commitment to accuracy. An average day may include:

• Welcoming patients and completing registration and check-in processes.
• Verifying demographic information, insurance coverage, and required documentation.
• Collecting patient signatures and ensuring registration records are complete and accurate.
• Assisting patients with financial assistance resources and helping eligible individuals navigate application processes.
• Supporting scheduled appointments as well as walk-in services including laboratory visits, imaging, EKGs, and other outpatient services.
• Responding to departmental communications, workflow updates, and system changes.
• Collaborating with teammates and clinical departments to ensure patients move efficiently through the care process.
• Floating between multiple outpatient registration areas including MRI, Surgical Services, Main Radiology, Health Center, and other registration locations as operational needs evolve.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Customer service experience preferred. Experience: Preferred not required. Licensure: None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. The pay range for this role is $17.50 - $26.76 hourly.
