Maintenance Area Team Lead

You'll play a vital role in our team by:

• Leading maintenance crews during assigned shifts, ensuring corrective tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and with high quality, including reporting and entering a follow up request after a temporary corrective maintenance.
• Managing shift-based maintenance activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution of corrective tasks and proper reporting of temporary repairs requiring follow-up.
• Prioritizing work orders based on production needs, safety risks, and equipment criticality.
• Serving as the first point of contact for troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating emergency repairs.
• Communicating shift activities, issues, and completed tasks to incoming teams and supervisors.
• Responsible for executing planned activities when no corrective maintenance is required.
• Providing hands-on support and guidance for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
• Ensuring proper use of tools, PPE, and maintenance procedures in line with site safety standards.
• Supporting root cause analysis for recurring failures and assisting in implementing corrective actions.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed work in the CMMS, including parts used and labor hours.
• Conducting daily equipment walkdowns to detect early signs of wear or failure.
• Facilitating rapid root cause analysis immediately after critical breakdowns.
• Ensuring lessons learned from failures are integrated into PM routines and SOPs.

Assist in executing and improving preventive maintenance routines. Identify opportunities to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability. Monitor equipment condition and escalate concerns to engineering or reliability teams. Support TPM initiatives and basic condition checks performed by operators.

Mentor junior technicians and support cross-training across maintenance disciplines. Participate in safety meetings and lead toolbox talks focused on maintenance best practices.

Enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with lockout/tagout and other safety procedures. Maintain clean and organized work areas, promoting a culture of safety and accountability. Report safety incidents, near misses, and equipment hazards promptly.

We're looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:

• 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled roles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (preferably SAP) and basic documentation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proven leadership ability in a shift-based, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across departments.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance is preferred.
• OSHA 10/30, LOTO, and other relevant safety certifications a plus.
• Willingness to pursue additional training in reliability tools and leadership.
