Overview

Our client is seeking motivated Server Installation Technicians to support the deployment and expansion of new data center sites in the Maryland area. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with cabling experience who are looking to build a career in data centers, infrastructure, and IT operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with structured cabling, AV/VTC installations, field service work, or other technical installation environments. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced data center setting, performing physical installation work, and supporting critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, label, and dress network and server cabling.
• Install and route copper and fiber cabling throughout the facility.
• Rack and stack servers and associated hardware.
• Support server installation activities within data center environments.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and staging equipment and racks.
• Perform basic server troubleshooting and hardware diagnostics.
• Document completed work and follow established installation procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to data center standards.

Required

Qualifications

• At least some experience with cabling, including:
  • Structured cabling
  • Data center cabling
  • AV/VTC installations
  • Telecommunications installations
  • Field service technician work
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Adamstown and Frederick locations as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable working on ladders and in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to work weekends and maintain schedule flexibility.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Electronics, or a related field.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or similar.
• Previous experience working in a data center environment.
• Experience receiving, installing, or troubleshooting server hardware.

Work Environment

• Primarily based in data center facilities located in Adamstown and Frederick, Maryland.
• Travel between sites may be required on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Hands on, physically active role requiring movement throughout the facility and work around server racks and networking equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Adamstown, MD.

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Adamstown,MD.

This position is anticipated to close on Oct 5, 2026.
