Respiratory Therapist

Location: Rockport, ME • Facility: Pen Bay Hospital • Schedule: Full Time • Shift: Day Overview The Respiratory Therapist role performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians/advanced practice practitioners in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. They administer respiratory care modalities and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiovascular system under supervision of the physician/advanced practice practitioner. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems as part of patient assessment. Administer respiratory care modalities and life support as prescribed. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate from AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy. Licensure/Certifications: Current state license in Respiratory Care (RRT or CRRT) where applicable. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required or must be obtained within one year of start date or per department guidelines. Experience: One year of acute care experience preferred.
