Veterinary Technician
Join our team at Brookville Animal Hospital in Glen Head, NY! We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to provide exceptional care to our furry patients. As a Veterinary Technician at our hospital, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate care to small animals
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Implement Fear Free techniques to reduce stress in patients
- Assist with preventive care appointments
- Perform dental prophylaxis and cleanings
Required Skills:
- Registered or Certified Veterinary Technician
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and IV catheterization
- Ability to perform venipuncture and administer medications
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care
- Strong communication skills and ability to educate pet owners
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with ultrasound and X-rays
- Knowledge of critical care and triage procedures
- Previous lab experience and ability to interpret lab results
