Join us and you’ll develop your skills and expertise to the very highest levels, working in an international environment for a company known the world over for its brilliance.Position Location Options:Mankato, MinnesotaNovi, MichiganAiken, South CarolinaMiami, FloridaPosition Summary:Perform preventative maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators; including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. Promote safe and efficient operation of duties. Travel required.Key Accountabilities:Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul engines, genset systems and their electronic and mechanical systems.Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasksAssist in the preparation of work estimatesCommission and operate engines and genset systemsInstrument genset systems and record test dataInspect parts to assure conformance to specificationPerform field inspections of failed parts and write reports to avoid future incidentsMaintain engine, system and equipment log booksMaintain detailed records of daily activitiesRequest parts and tools to perform job functionsSource local vendors required for field serviceWork with product groups on product design developmentProvide input for updates of service manuals and bulletinsInstruct customers in safe engine operation, shutdown procedures and troubleshootingProvide technical assistance to other service personnelRemain technically currentMaintain a clean and safe work areaAnalyze technical dataPromote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.Perform special projects as requiredBasic Requirements:Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time2 years mechanical or technical trade school and 3 years field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 5 years field service experience.Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. rangeAbility to travel 60-80% on short notice international and domesticPreferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge of electronics and ability to read blue prints and electronic schematicsAbility to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks within the tight confines typical of genset enclosures and compartments and/or engine rooms for long periods of timeAbility to operate machine shop equipment used for fabricating test parts and equipmentProficient in the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controlsProficient in the use of mechanical and electric hand toolsProficient in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systemsProficient in technical language and engineering terminologyProficient in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumaticsProficient in the operation of internal combustion enginesProficient in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oilsProficient verbal and written English communication skillsGood organizational skillsProficient with PC and MS Office SuiteExperience with MTU engines and electronicsExperience in gaseous engine service industryExperience in testing of gaseous engine componentsExperience in rigging of weights up to 1 tonExperience in report and service letter writingBi-lingual in SpanishRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
