Job Overview Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Emergency Department Location: Boston Medical Center (BMC), Adult Emergency Department, Boston, MA Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights) As an RN in the Adult Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. About the Department The Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center located in Boston’s South End. The department fosters innovation, collaboration, and teamwork while focusing on ongoing education and training. Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records with computerized data/information. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization. Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects. Requirements Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain MA RN licensure. 1+ years of ED RN experience required. TNCC certification required, or ability to obtain prior to start date. Certification in basic life support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language a plus. Benefits Competitive pay.
