This individual's efforts are directed towards the hospital's needs and continued development of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation services. This individual shall build a strong referral basis, rapport with the physicians, as well as awareness of the services in the community through delivery of quality services. In the area of specialties, deliver quality patient care, educate the hospital staff, assist physicians in patient treatment plans to ultimately lead to a strong hospital reputation for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation care. The Exercise Physiologist duties must be performed in accordance with the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and hospital policies and procedures. Additionally, responsibilities include patient assessment, assisting to design a physical conditioning program for each patient based on individual needs, provisions of patient and family education and counseling, maintaining patient records, conducting and monitoring physical conditioning sessions, and participation in Quality Improvement projects. The Exercise Physiologist shall provide strength and conditioning exercise to the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation population. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. **Education/Experience**:Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent. Basic EKG experience preferred.**License/Certification**:BLS required, ACLS preferred**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: • Ability to work as a team member throughout the facility. • Technical ability to learn aspects of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program • Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated. • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency. • Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization. • Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. • Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel. • The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort. • The ability to maintain confidentiality.Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility (exercise participation) 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds or greater, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
