Logistics Specialist/Material HandlerLocation: Greenville, OH 45331 - 100% onsiteDuration: 12 months contractWorking Shift Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, FridayAfternoon Shift: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PMNight Shift: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AMResponsibilitiesPosition must advance to be multi-functional and knowledgeable regarding department tasks for Material Handlers. Applicant must be willing to work in and be a part of a continuously developing team-oriented atmosphere. Soft skills such as a cooperative spirit and the motivation to assist other team members as workflow dictates are required. Must be able to demonstrate a steady work pace with changing priorities. Advancement of skills and knowledge in relation to department duties is also required. A strong safety commitment is necessary to be a part of this team. Support Process Safety programs through participation in compliance audits, Pre-Start up Safety Reviews, PHAs (Revalidations; Clean-Sheets) and other hazard/risk assessment activities; utilize available Process Safety Information in the safe performance of work activities as well as complete and provide feedback on Process Safety related training. Participate in process safety related incident investigations and complete assigned action items in a timely manner. Accept personal responsibility to act according to process safety regulations and company directives. Demonstrate understanding of primary hazards in work area and the safeguards in place to manage them. This is a safety sensitive position.Major ResponsibilitiesLoading and off-loading and packaged materialsStaging materials to support productionOperating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and yard tractorsFamiliarity with material handling safety/hygiene issuesMaintain assigned inspections and housekeeping dutiesComputer skills to accomplish training opportunitiesMinimum QualificationsHigh School DiplomaExperience in the operation of powered industrial equipment, specifically, forklifts and yard tractors.Physical RequirementsOccasional lifting, bending and twisting of various range and motion requiring physical exertion when handling materials, drums or equipmentAbility to lift 55 poundsAbility to stand and walk in work environment majority of timeFrequent use of stairs requiredOccasional use of respiratory protection including air purifying, air supplied and self-contained air supplied respirators. Must pass fit test requirements for respiratory protection.Use of PPE to perform hazardous materials duties related to spill response and clean up activitiesWork environment varies between inside building activities and outside environment (ability to withstand various temperatures and weather conditions)
