Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Hospice Aide

LOCATION: Rapid City, SD

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

Are you a compassionate caregiver who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families? We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Hospice Aide to provide personal care and comfort to patients in a home setting. This role focuses on dignity, respect, and supportive care during an important stage of life.

As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse as part of an interdisciplinary care team. You will help patients remain comfortable while supporting families and caregivers with daily care needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is dependable, caring, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing
Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
Help with meals and feeding as needed
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nurse
Assist with light housekeeping and laundry related to patient care
Support patients and families with compassionate communication
Help maintain a clean and safe environment
Assist with range of motion exercises as directed
Provide comfort-focused care and companionship
Document care provided according to guidelines

Qualifications

Meets state training requirements for hospice aide or nursing assistant
Minimum required classroom and practical training hours completed
At least 18 years of age
Ability to follow instructions and document care accurately
Comfortable providing care for individuals with serious illness
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compassionate, patient, and dependable

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Current auto insurance
Ability to travel to patient homes
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct

Work Environment

Patient home settings
Regular travel between patient visits
Possible exposure to illness or infectious conditions
Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and assisting patients
