Community IR Radiologist - Cap Regional and CRMC

Job Description The Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine seeks a full‑time faculty member to expand our team of Community Interventional Radiology Specialists at the UM Capital Regional Health (CRH) in Largo, MD and the UM Charles Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in LaPlata, MD. The successful candidate will become a member of our department and its IR division, with expectations of clinical effort and programmatic development at our community sites while collaborating toward the goals and vision of the department and its IR division. This position is for a board‑certified or board‑eligible IR fellowship/training‑trained radiologist with strong interests in community interventional radiology operations. The desired candidate should be able to develop the IR program at UM Capital Regional Health, including its new flagship hospital in Largo, and assist with needs at UM CRMC. The role also involves taking IR calls at UM Capital Medical Center. UM Capital Regional Health and its new hospital in Largo, MD is an upcoming, state‑of‑the‑art health care facility set to open in June 2021. The new hospital will feature a new state‑of‑the‑art IR suite. In addition to interventional responsibilities, candidates should have comfort with the broad scope of general diagnostic radiology (plain film, CT, ultrasound, and MRI). Nuclear medicine or mammography expertise is not required. Potential start date is negotiable; graduating fellows or residents who can start in July 2021 will also be considered. The work schedule will emphasize sustainability and a favorable work/life balance, with a focus on rural community practice. Qualifications Board certification or eligibility in interventional radiology; fellowship or residency training in IR; strong interests in community interventional radiology operations; experience or interest in developing IR programs; knowledge of general diagnostic radiology modalities.
